I have experience in marsh tutoring as I’ve tutored 3 students in the subject in the past. 1 yr8 student and 2 GCSE students. Both parents and the children themselves found my tutoring very good and have left great reviews after sessions. They’ve also seen improvement in their grades since we began. I have general tutoring experience in biology and chemistry where I have taught 2 students. I believe that the student should decide what area of the subject they want help in. Wether it is to develop their understanding of a weak topic, consolidate what they’ve been learning at school or even get a head start on a new topic. I typically teach through zoom. I usually go through an example myself showing the student what they should be doing, then work together on one with them and finally allow them to try by themselves. I use a mostly exam style questions to teach the students so they get a taste of what to expect. I use a feature within zoom which allows the student to write on my screen so I can see what they’re doing. I currently tutor a student this way and they find it very useful. I’m fairly flexible on timings.
