I am very happy to tailor my lessons to the student, depending largely on what they would like to learn.

For help with GCSE and A-Level music, I am likewise happy to adopt a flexible approach. Often it is most helpful to talk about the music in a relaxed environment away from the pressures of school classes and teacher's expectations. I can provide tips for essay writing and can go through essays if this is deemed helpful.
Oxbridge applications can also be approached flexibly, but priority will be given to mock interviews and other interview assessments. Critical thinking and the ability to clear articulate yourself about music are the primary skills I will help develop, and these can be achieved through either free-flowing discussion, or more structured preparation.
For help with composition, it will depend wholly on whether the student is just getting started with composition, or is looking to refine their work to achieve higher marks at GCSE or A-Level. For anyone interested in honing their skills in Sibelius, or score production with Logic Pro or Garageband, I have significant experience to share.
Most important for me will always be to push my students to increase their musical knowledge and capabilities while maintaining a friendly and, hopefully, enjoyable atmosphere! I am happy to teach in person in London or online over Zoom.
