I trust that I have the ability and always seek to take into consideration other people's experiences, understand their perspectives, and accommodate for their needs. Improvement is prioritised and rewarded rather than meeting specific thresholds and teaching methods and complexity will be adapted to the pupil's personal level of understanding, challenges and interests. The lessons seek to spark passion for the subject and provoke curious questions and discourse.
The lessons will cover the key topics from the national curriculum with emphasis on any concepts the students find challenging at school and so would benefit from more personalised teaching, time spent on topics and question practice. Materials will incorporate a lot of visual aid since I believe understanding of biology to greatly benefit from visual sicence.
I work full-time as a teaching assistant in a school covering Key Stages 2-4 and thanks to this experience I have acquiered worthwile practice with tutoring, 1-on-1 assistance, flexibility and adaptability with learning plans and innovative approaches to learning. I also have a bachelor in Biomedical Sciences from the University of York, which is a leading instutution for teaching Biological Sciences and so have in-depth understanding and long-standing expertise in a wide range of Biology-related topics.
