Learning shouldn’t be done in isolation but be related to things surrounding the students which they have picked interest in. I lessons I’d like to ask the students questions and allow them to express what they understand about the topic, how confident and motivated they’re to answer all the questions arising concerning the topic. Video illustration, as I have experienced has greater impact on how students understand various topics. I would introduce students to video contents and how to find information online and then build up their careers through independent learning.
I also experienced that creating a historical context to topic helps improve understanding. Creating and understanding situations where scientific theories where first discovered, how they have been applied, and challenges that accompanied such theories.
