While working in a Cambridge Curriculum school, I have taught learners in different age groups ranging from 7 to 12. These classes normally have about 20 students, whom I would divide into groups according to their social, comprehensive and creative skills to build functional units which encourage skill building.
As a teacher, the safety and nourishment (both physical and mental) of my students is always my first priority. And I make sure that my learners always feel secure in my presence and find a friend in me.
In my 4 years of teaching experience, I have come to develop my unique lesson structure. In a typical lesson, I would begin by introducing the topic and receiving ideas from learners about their prior knowledge about it.
Once we've established where we stand, I would build into the topic including details and examples. Learners can develop their understanding by asking more questions, creating own examples and solving various challenges according to their level of comprehensibility.
Learners are involved in interactive games and activities to encourage active learning which stimulates their minds. By the end of the lesson, their work is assessed and feedback is provided accordingly.
Learners are always encouraged to achieve their full potential and inspired to broaden their horizons as I take it as my duty to challenge their learning and help them move forward. And finally, I take feedback with utmost sincerity and always try to improve my own skills and along with my students' and develop myself.
