I will follow a simple 4-step approach to every session that is guaranteed to be the catalyst to your exam season success...

1. Get feedback from the student about tasks set from prior session and identify areas for improvement.

2. Focus on the key content and fundamental principles surrounding the topic.

3. Look to implement the knowledge in exam questions and recall tests.

4. Set tasks for practice outside the sessions and prepare an action plan.

This structured approach will allow students to correct weaknesses and reinforce their strengths within the curriculum. Knowledge can be routinely tested both during the sessions and outside the class as there is no substitution for repetition in many cases.
I will also structure my lessons on an individualised basis, giving a clear plan for what each lesson is going to include. Depending on the students specific requests, I will aid to both improve exam confidence and improve grades.

In my opinion, and also from experience, the best way to prepare for an exam is to do past papers/ questions. I will begin by sampling the student with a few past exam questions to see where they are at, and then discuss specific topics of difficulty.

I will aid the student with the topics they are struggling with - planned with ~30 minutes of teaching followed with ~30 minutes questions to solidify understanding. Every few topics, I will present the student with another past paper, to monitor progression! It is important for the students to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions as this is how we learn.
