As i studied english at A-level, to help me develop my skills I tutored younger children within my school during their exam periods to help them to also reach their full potential. My preferred teaching methodology depends on the individual, students all learn in different ways and as a tutor it’s our job to find the best possible way for them to learn effectively. Therefore not only one technique can be used when tutoring. All students have different strengths and weaknesses, hence why analysing which methods help them the most is important, with younger children usually more interactive ways of teaching are more beneficial whereas with older students, giving practise questions or essays are deemed as more suitable as it allows them that practise that they need for exams.
