I am experienced in helping children as I worked in a Kumon centre alongside my A-Levels and so I have some expertise in aiding children in their learning. My lessons can either be one-to-one or group sessions in which I would use my device to share my screen via Zoom and teach from there. This may involve a blank screen in which I am writing out a method, exam questions that I would like the child or children to complete or even a video to help summarise important concepts. For each child, I would work systematically through their curriculum or through their weaknesses if they are a strong student. This mainly depends on what the child tells me they want to cover before I start teaching them which can be communicated in a free first taster session. In this taster session I will assess the child's abilities by giving them a set of questions to complete and I will mark after the lesson and provide feedback for. If the child decides to continue lessons, after each lesson I would set them homework to complete which should be done by the next lesson the following week. It's important that the child asks for help if they don't understand something but if they are too afraid to ask, I will make sure that I regularly ask in the lesson if they understand what I am saying. Lessons are likely to be an hour long or an hour and a half, depending on the topic or the amount of students I am teaching.
