Hi! I'm Nick. I'm from Manchester in England but i live in Derbyshire now! I've been teaching English as a second language for 5 years now in a variety of settings in the East Midlands. I enjoy reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family. I've also recently started learning Spanish which is a new venture for me. I've always had a great passion for learning and teaching. I believe that one of the ways to ensure i remain an understanding, empathic teacher is to never stop learning, myself!
As I mentioned, I've been teaching English for 5 years now, both in person and online. My first teaching role was in a language school in Nottingham while I was studying my degree. Here I taught skills booster sessions to adults at A2 level. I also taught a student who was studying the CAE exam and supported her with transformations and reading skills in particular.

Upon Graduating from NTU with a 2:1 I then taught in a school as an english language tutor where i assisted students with reading and writing skills as well as working with students who had english as a second or additional language to help them achieve their target grades in English.

I also taught a class of language acquisition students for a year where the focus was specifically to enhance their writing and reading skills to a level that was closer to that of their comrades. This was successful through a combination of technology in the classroom and more tradition fluency exercises.

I have taught online also through an international language school where I specialised in conversational english through a direct method of correction.
As a teacher, my students describe me as friendly, dedicated and patient. I believe that students learn better when they enjoy the classes they attend.
