I am a Spanish, French and Greek linguist who has just finished working at an independent boarding school in Derbyshire as a Spanish and French teacher. I graduated in July 2017 from the University of Nottingham, with a Second-class honours’ degree; Upper division (2:1) in French and Spanish (BA Hons). As soon as I graduated, I began to work as a language teacher and trained on the job. I had to adapt quickly to this new environment which was exciting but initially quite difficult. Due to the nature of completing the PGCE whilst teaching, it taught me how to adapt rapidly to new situations.
Every school I have worked in, I have been a valued member and have been seen as a model example teacher due to my teaching quality and variety. Students tend to really enjoy my lessons due to the range of activities and my energetic approach.
I have worked with a wide range of students including preparing students that have gone to study languages at Oxford and Cambridge.
In the classroom, I found joy in sparking curiosity and fostering a love for languages among my students. Each lesson felt like an opportunity to open doors to new worlds, rich with history, literature, and the beauty of human connection. As a tutor, I aim to carry that same spirit into my individualized sessions, helping learners achieve their personal language goals through tailored lesson plans that focus on their specific interests and needs. Whether it's preparing for exams, enhancing conversational skills, or diving into cultural nuances, I am dedicated to cultivating a supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated to learn.
