I graduated from university with my BA Honours in Primary Education in 2018. From there I went into my first teaching job where I taught Year 6 for a term, then taught Year 3 for the rest of the academic year and an extra term for maternity cover. In this school I experienced supporting the English national curriculum as well as supporting with 11+ preparation. I then went to teach in Year 1 for 2 terms for maternity cover where I unfortunately experienced lockdown and supported children with online learning. Due to Covid, I then found it challenging to find another teaching job so I built my own online tutoring business where I supported children from 3-11 in a range of areas including 11+, phonics, English and Maths. As in-person tutoring returned, I decided to go back into teaching in a school where I taught Year 2 for a term, Year 1 in the mornings, Year 2 for science one afternoon a week and Year 5/6 (mixed) the other afternoons for an academic year and then Year 5/6 (mixed) adding Year 4 for 3 afternoons a week and Year 3 one half of an afternoon a week. In this school I supported the English National curriculum as well as 11+ preparation and was lead of the 11+ preparation in the school.
When providing my lessons, I ensure they are focused on the areas for improvement for each child. This means that it is individualised and will encourage your child to reach their fullest potential without going over areas they are already confident in! I try to make these lessons as interactive as possible, including games, puzzles and more! The children can complete work independently and with my guidance and depending on the subject, if required, can complete in test conditions. I am also happy to supply homework/extra practice resources to parents as well as supporting parents if there is an area they do not feel confident with.
