The lessons will generally follow the following format:
Introduction catching up on homework set the previous week, and any problems the student has found in the homework or in other lessons at school.
The main topic of the lesson then begins. This will either be from the curriculum or picked by the student in case of revision.
The lesson will follow official notes for the topic, however I will perform the explanation using the notes as an augmentation tool. During the lesson I always try to link the topic to real life applications and examples so the student understands the importance of what they are learning.
Last part of the lesson will focus on practicing problems and questions based on the topic. I allow the students to attempt the questions themselves as I find that to be most beneficial. Of course the student is free to ask for help to which I will usually hint them towards a solution. If after the hint the student still is struggling then I go over the solution explaining every step.
I like the lessons to be interactive. I use a pen and trackpad to write notes and draw diagrams, and I always encourage the student to ask questions if something is not understood. I do not have a problem if the main topic cannot be finished in one lesson, as long as it is understood.
Upon request I can also do lessons where no teaching is provided, but rather the student gets to practice exam questions with my guidance.
