Nicola Somerville

Hi, I'm Nicola - a graduate medical student at the University of St Andrews. I have a BSc (Hons) in Biology (also from St Andrews).

I have tutored a variety of subjects and ages, from primary to SQA highers. I teach science, maths and English, but can also give advice on personal statements and medical school applications.

I love working out how each individual learns best and strive to ensure everyone I teach reaches their full potential. I want to make the learning process fun and enjoyable, and not be seen as a chore!

I tailor my lessons to the student's abilities and personality. I try to link the subject to their interests, as I believe that people learn best when they are interested in a subject and can see the relevance of what they're studying.

I have personally sat exams in both the Cambridge IGCSE and Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher syllabuses, so I understand both the exam boards themselves and how to research the specifics of new exam boards.
