I am currently a secondary school teacher with over 32 years experience teaching French, German and Spanish to secondary school students as well as adults, both in this country and abroad. I have a joint honours degree in French and German from Brasenose College, Oxford as well as a PGCE, and I teach both languages to A level and Oxbridge level including Spanish to GCSE. I strongly believe that everyone can learn a language and I aim to make my students more confident and resilient by using a wide variety of resources and techniques to overcome any anxieties and barriers to learning. Most of all I believe language learning should be fun, whether the emphasis is on building an in-depth understanding of grammar and the written word or on communication and oral and aural fluency. I teach all ages and abilities and am conscientious and diligent in the way I plan and deliver lessons. I strive to get the best out of every student I teach and am careful to adapt my lesson plans according to my students’ needs. Please do contact me if you would like to improve your existing language skills for school or for work, be prepared for a specific examination or just simply have fun learning for pleasure. I would be delighted to help.
