The lessons are very practical based, using a combination of oral work, white board work and using resources including letter tiles and flash cards. At the most basic level we concentrate on decoding of words and phonological awareness. In addition to this there is a large amount of guided reading at the appropriate level to encourage understanding and comprehensive skills. As the reading progresses there is an increasing emphasis on punctuation, grammar, word endings and spelling. We then progress further to show expression within the reading. Each session is one hour long and will always include a short written section.
