I think its really important that you feel comfortable to ask any questions, there are no silly questions! I think that its important to try different methods with different students, everyone's brain works differently and sometimes you just need it explained from a slightly different angle for it to click into place. Depending on the age of the student, I like to work differently. But no matter what age a student is, I think it's so important to listen to them and learn what style of teaching works for them, what topics are more difficult for them and what we need to tackle together through different guided examples. The most important aspect of learning maths is practice! It's important that student fully understand a concept before we move on to the next so I never want them to feel rushed.
