Lots of activities are best based around real life experiences and scenarios, I believe that being emerged into a potential situation is the way forward and definitely helps pupils to retain information much easier - for example creative writing is made more memorable having real life objects to refer to and physically being able to see and touch, hot seating the characters or participating in role play.
