Nicki Cumiskey

I have experience working with people of all ages. I started out as an Irish Girl Guide Leader where I worked with Girls between the ages of 7-11 and I also worked within scouting Ireland for a similar age group. As I got older I started teaching adults in workshops.

I try to use a variety of materials in my classes to keep my students interested and engaged. This could be showing a short video, online games, relevant comprehension ect. I also work within my students needs and try to find a teaching method that suits them. If I am starting with a new student I try to get them to do a learning style quiz so I can amend my lesson plans to suit them. I understand that as a tutor being enthusiastic and present keep students attention and not bore them. I also do a needs analysis for the student to determine what they are looking to achieve by coming to me as I know their time is precious. My aim is to have my students speaking fluently and confidently so they can use it in real life.
