For economics, I will cater this much more to the interest of the student. This can range from:
- AQA/Edexcel textbooks
- Online clips
- Graph/Mathematical practice
- Writing practice
- Flashcard creation
- Booklets
- Podcasts.
Overall, I have never really had any negative feedback from students or from their parents. This is because I know the feeling of being uninterested in a subject, and I have learnt to teach in a way that interests most students. I have typically worked with students for 8 weeks, which allows me to break each session down into small components and then be able to revisit them at the end. For example, teaching GCSE Spanish, I would spend 1 session on each skill; Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. Then, I will make sure that we are able to revisit and experience the improvements that have been made.
My structure for economics is slightly more complicated as I have tutored it mostly to A-Level students. Firstly, understanding their mathematical and writing level through small written questions. Then assessing their ability to remember graphs. Once their mathematical ability, and their writing ability is of a good enough level to start writing essays, then that is the main focus of my lessons.
