I do not have prior experience as a private tutor, but I adopt a person-centred approach. This is demonstrated in my previous rugby coaching with infants and junior level. In respect to tutoring, however, a person-centred approach essentially targets the student as the centre of their development. As a tutor, I will ensure I will provide all the tools to necessitate growth, whilst allowing for freedom for the student to dictate how they want their lessons to operate.

This mean the lesson can be structured in any way the student sees fit. Additionally, they should never feel shame and embarrassment in coming to learn English as a foreign language. We can go over the smallest of details as many times as needed if they do not understand something. This is because I do not suffer from a lack of patience.

This is true due to my own experiences, where I received Speech and Language therapy because I struggled immensely as a child. I lacked fundamental understand of forming sentences, understanding social cues within conversation and how to put my message across in a clear and coherent manner. But with persistence and guidance from others, I reached a level where I was confident not just in my language capabilities, but also in my ability to flourish in a range of social situations, where my language barrier would have previously been a problem. In my own opinion, this increased my confidence tenfold.
