I am a Neuroscience graduate with extensive experience working with emotional needs as well as neuro divergent students. I am extremely creative and able to assist students modifying their habits and study methods.
I have taught in the UK for over a decade and have had prior experience in the social care sector. This is a great advantage in terms of dealing with behaviour and resistance from students.
Moreover, I support students developing new skills and build confidence as they learn. This is crucial to move further as they apply for jobs or university.
My method allows them to learn that their own development is their responsibility and that a tutor can assist and support such journey, but ultimately it will be their efforts that will bring the results they want to achieve.
I always embed language and maths in every science lesson and always make sure to make links to topics that students enjoy in real life. This allows learners to become more participative and enjoy each lesson in a different way. I also alternate with sessions where they have to teach me back, this allows them to also exercise their language and presentation skills, whilst gaining a deeper understanding of any given topic.
Additionally, I always ensure that we discuss feedback and areas of improvement as we go along. In doing so, students learn how to feedback the work of a teacher and self assess their own work too.
Finally, I am extremely versatile, flexible and capable of adapting to last minute changes. I am hardworking and well organised and happy to discuss with families and students any new approaches they want to try as we proceed with the sessions.
