Firstly, I need to identify the needs of the individual student. If the student is still at a basic level delivery will be tailored to that level. I have taught English as a Second Language for over 20 years. I specialised in English as a Foreign Language for just over 2 years. In each case the parent organisation made sure that I was informed of the needs of the student/students. Curriculum and lesson plans were always tailored to satisfy these needs.
I was teaching international students in English as a Foreign Language for 2 years at the Northern Territory University. At the same university I taught recently-arrived migrants to Australia for one year. For Batchelor Institute I was teaching English as a Second Language to Australian Indigenous students whose first language was not English for 16 years.
