The student will inform me what subject and topics within that subject they want to go over and I will plan the lessons according to the topics chosen by the student. We will revise the content and I will constantly ask questions to make sure the student is understanding the content and the student will be provided the opportunity to ask any questions too. Then I will provide the student with some exam questions based on the topic and we will go over exam questions to ensure the student is hitting specification and marking points to improve exam technique. If the student feels they would benefit from a different format then I will be happy to make any changes to ensure that the lessons are as beneficial to the student as possible. I have studied all the subjects I offer with top grades so I am aware of what each subject entails and am familiar with the specifications of AQA, OCR and Edexcel. While I have no previous experience in private tutoring, I have taught Panjabi to children between the ages of 7 to 16 (primary school to GCSE) in a voluntary teaching position at a Panjabi school in Sunderland Gurdwara. This has allowed me to develop my communication skills and adapt communication based on age and needs of the individual students. I also have helped children develop their reading skills in a Reading Partners scheme while at school, so I understand where students might need more support to achieve academic goals and how different students learn in different ways so communication and teaching style need to be adapted for each student.
