Nathan Timmins

Hi! I'm Nathan, a first-year music student at Cardiff University. I am currently studying modules in theory, practice, conducting, musicology, composition and more, giving me a wide range of knowledge and skills which I am looking to pass on to ambitious musicians. I am a practicing musician and frequently perform paid gigs in a variety of musical settings. I aim to provide lessons which are informal and friendly, and I always put my students' needs first. My lessons take the form of a very relaxed session with a flexible structure which can change at any time according to your needs. I am happy to teach music theory, composition or performance (piano and drums/percussion) to A-level standard, as well as any other aspect of music you might wish to explore. My first lesson normally takes the form of an icebreaker session in which we get to know each other and I get a grasp for the level at which you are currently working, after which we are able to look together at creating a personalised plan for your lessons according to your goals and ambitions. I have taught students in this manner before with great success, and I find it makes lessons more efficient and enjoyable for both me and you. I'm happy to teach students of any age and ability, and have had previous experience teaching at both a primary and secondary school level.
