Hello. My name is Nathan and I am a professional English teacher from England.

I started teaching English in 2010. I have more than 3,000+ hours of teaching experience and have worked in private schools and as an independent tutor in the United Kingdom, China and Japan.
I teach English to people of all ages and all levels of English.

My students have included school children, university students and adults of all ages. I have helped my students to prepare for the most popular English language exams, including IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge.

I have also helped many university students with their English writing and speaking presentations. This has included university course work and applications for jobs or courses. I can also help with proofreading and improving your work.

If you are in London then I can meet you face-to-face. If you are anywhere else in the world, I can meet you online.

It’s OK if you only want one lesson per week, or if you want a more intensive course with lessons every day. If you a university student, or if you are applying for jobs and courses, I can also help with your English for this.

I will give a free 30 minute trial lesson for all new students.

During the trial I will assess your speaking & listening level, and ask you about reading & writing. We can also talk about your goals and how often you want to study.

I am friendly, relaxed and professional. I have a simple English accent and I speak clearly. Contact me if you have any questions :)

My teaching style is relaxed and professional. I aim to build every student's confidence by making sure they have a genuine understanding of each topic. I take care to keep students motivated and to make learning enjoyable. I do this by giving people a real sense of progress and achievement, and by explaining things clearly. I will take time to get to know each student and to understand their goals, strengths and difficulties. Everyone is different, and I will treat each student according to their personality and level.

MY BASIC LESSON PLAN
1. Each lesson starts with a recap of the things we learned in last lesson. I will also introduce the aims and learning points for the lesson.
2. If there was any homework then we will go through this together and correct any mistakes.
3. If you are making common mistakes then I will spend some time revising grammar. My lessons are flexible, so it is possible to spend more time focusing on topics that are difficult.
4. I use a variety of materials and activities when teaching. We will usually complete 2 or 3 activities in each hour. I start by introducing the main learning points for the activity. Each activity might focus on speaking, listening, reading, or short writing tasks. (longer writing activities are given for homework)
5. You can ask questions at any time and I welcome lots of questions. It is important to be able to make mistakes and to practice things until you get them right. This is the best way to build confidence and fluency.
6. It is important to stay motivated and to enjoy learning, so I use a variety of materials and activities when teaching.
7. At the end of each lesson you will be given a recap of everything we learned, and I will send you a written report of the key learning points.
