Hi, Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I am an enthusiastic, experienced teacher, who finds great pleasure in introducing music in a fun, and informative way to all my pupils. I have been teaching piano, Keyboard and music theory for 34 years (since I was 14) to all ages.
I studied piano and composition at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and gained both a Bachelor of Music with honours, and a Post Graduate Diploma. I was a winner of the BBC Young Composer of the Year in 1999, and have had a number of performances recorded for Radio.
Since 2005 I have been an Examiner for London College of Music giving me greater understanding of the exam process.
I can offer lessons for beginners to diploma standard, you can learn for leisure or towards examinations in all styles of music, studying technique, expression and understanding of musical notation as we progress.
I teach music theory up to grade 8 along side the practical aspects of the instrument. If you would like to go further and begin writing your own music, I am more than happy to help you explore your ideas while helping to stretch your skills.
I am also happy to offer help and instruction with elements of GCSE music if required during lessons, from music history, composition, listening tests, to performances, and choice of repertoire.
I look forward to helping you achieve your goals, and enjoy music, in a fun, Informative way. Get in touch, let’s get started!
