About the lessons:
First and foremost, they are your lessons, not mine. I will hence aim to get to know you as soon as possible to deliver lessons which will benefit you the most as you seek to develop your knowledge in English or in French.
I am a lifelong learner who strives to use technology as a learning aid to make online lessons as interactive as possible. In a typical session, we would use Kahoot quizzes to assess prior learning and google slides to augment knowledge. We would also past papers for those preparing for
the 11+, Common Entrance, Academic Scholarships GCSE and A Levels. If desired, I would set work to be completed in-between lessons to continue learning in between lessons.

About me:
My passion for teaching and learning has now spanned 35 years and shows no signs of abeiting. I have acquired many skills along the way, including teaching both adults and children, in state and independent schools.
My aim is to make the learning relevant to individual needs and wishes, hence making 1:1 teaching particularly attractive to me. I have used online platforms and educational sites to teach since 2020.
I am a native speaker of French who is fully fluent in French, having lived in the UK since 1990. I hold a honours degree in English Literature and Civilisation. I am a fully qualified teacher, a former GCSE assessor and senior leader. I have extensive experience of preparing children for the ISEB pre-tests, the 11+, Common Entrance and academic scholarships to senior schools.

I have known Nathalie in a professional capacity for several years. Nathalie was the Head of Academics at a local boarding school which is how we met where she taught both my son and daughter. Nathalie stood out to me with her enthusiasm, kindness and sheer professionalism and ability get the very best out of children academically. Although my son moved on to his secondary school I did not hesitate to contact Nathalie when he showed signs of struggling with GCSE French - with her assistance he scored a grade 9. Nathalie has a wealth of knowledge on many subjects due to her previous role in private education and successfully prepared my daughter for the entry examinations at a top girls boarding school near London, UK. This is a highly competitive academic school that together, as a team, we successfully obtained a place where she is now flourishing.

Nathalie has been absolutely brilliant with and for both my children. They have different learning styles and have had different needs but she has taken them both from a position of low confidence to nailing their exams in a very short space of time. Even when it is an evening lesson after a long day at school, both children have said how useful and positive the session was and how much better they felt afterwards. We could not recommend Nathalie highly enough.

I highly recommend Nathalie as a French tutor. She is an exceptional teacher with a deep understanding of the language and culture. Her lessons are engaging, well-structured, and tailored to individual needs, making learning enjoyable and effective. Nathalie has a patient and encouraging approach, which builds confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing French.
