I am a qualified Accountant with over 20 years of experience.
I am also a qualified Mathematics teacher.
To complete the experience, I also have a few Mental Health First Aid qualifications.
These three areas of experience and competence, I strongly believe, help me to connect with and therefore better support, individuals, in their learning experience.
In preparing for an exam:
I would suggest that the individual, work through an exam paper yourself (with no assistance) so that I can mark it and then we can work through the errors and omissions together (this way, I will be able to focus on your understanding of any specific area of learning that you want or need). You will need to let me know your exam board so that we can prepare for the big day together
If just catching up on some missing lessons:
I would need to know from your teacher which areas of the syllabus you should be covering and to which level, that way I can prepare some specific tools to help you understand and remember the concepts from the underlying a topic.
For adults looking to work on their practical mathematics:
I would wish to show them some useful tips, software and apps and support them in applying these tools to personal situations, such as: bills; banking; and shopping
I am happy to tutor in small groups as well and could also arrange personal / face-to-face meeting if there are certain blocks to learning that could be better approached I a more personal way.
