Learning about history is all about how the lessons are presented and how children can link experiences together in a way that they find interesting. Sometimes history is about learning dates but most importantly (and for exams!) it is about linking and evaluating and analysing how history links to the present and how events can lead onto another.
My lessons aim to be as interesting but as informative as possible, whilst I understand history may not be a child's favourite subject, I would hope that they can at least learn something new and potentially develop more of an interest in the subject. You never know, history could be their new favourite subject!
I am confident speaking and educating children to the best of my ability, and due to the flexibility of my course I would be able to take lessons on at various times throughout the day.
I am in no means a conventional tutor that you may have experienced before as I have had tutoring when I was younger for various subjects, and whilst they helped me to excel I really did find the lessons and tutors could be quite strict and felt more like learning with a school teacher. Hence, I aim to create a learning environment for children to be able to discuss their course and interests openly with me, whilst also maintaining a teaching/learning relationship.
