Teaching and learning should be fun! That is exactly what you will get with me, fun while you learn. I am a strong believer in engaging the students I teach by building a strong rapport with them, assessing their level of current knowledge and planning step by step goals for them to be able to reach their full potential.

I am fluent in English and Bengali and have experience in teaching children with special educational needs. I let the child tell me what they are good at and what they would like to be better at and work from the students level of understanding in the subject I teach. After every lesson, I ensure that the student tells me or writes three things they learnt in the lesson and two things they would like to work harder on for the next lesson. I help children visualise the goal they want to reach and push them to achieve this by increasing motivation and giving meaningful positive praise. I value a growth mindset and embed these values in my teaching style, lesson plans and pedagogy.

I currently work as a supply teacher covering classes with children aged 3 to 12 years across schools in the London borough of Newham. I have a background in the health sector, however, I chose to pursue my passion - teaching and guiding children to work hard, have good self-esteem and value education. Having subject knowledge is not enough, you need to be able to apply the knowledge in a constructive manner to be able to excel at any subject.
