After working a few months in my work placement, I have gained the skills from other staff on how to setup lesson. I believe children are more like to engage in activities when it’s something they are able to do, so this means not forcing them or pushing their limits but making class something fun and enjoyable. Skills from students can be gained from figuring out what they are good and what they may struggle with, and using that to help set up their activities. My activities can consist of games, puzzles, class tasks and online activities to help children stay focused but also enjoy at the same time. A typical lesson would be focusing on the main two things in English (grammar and speech). Grammar can be developed through spelling activities which consists of both writing and speaking. Speech can be developed through pronunciation activities like sing-alongs and other videos where the children are asked to follow what’s being said. Lesson can be made attractive where children are willing to learn more and skills are being improved.
