Hi there, I love to work one to one with students - it’s my absolute favourite way to teach!
I like to ask how you feel you’re getting on with something, where in your learning you think you are and use this along with a quick assessment make the best lesson plans for your needs.
To feel confident and ready to learn is one of the most important components in removing barriers to learning, I would make sure that you are seeing your success and achievement and understand just how powerful you are for your own growth.
I would have teacher led sessions and teacher directed sessions, where I would be teaching you first and then directing you on how to work independently, additionally games that reinforce your learning and help you to revise new concepts would be practiced.
I love to chat and build relationships with students and I would try my absolute hardest to make sure that you feel comfortable and relaxed. A balance would be found between work and having quick brain breaks as I recognise that after a long day of school you might need for things to be taken at your own pace, considering your own needs.
If you let me know your interests and likes I can involve them in the lessons I teach and the resources I make, this makes learning more engaging and more related to the Scottish play pedagogy which highlights the importance of fun in developing your well-being and learning
