Previously, I have been a maths mentor and tutor for year 11 GCSE students - the methods I used to tutor them included using a past paper to first gauge their strengths and weaknesses then focusing our sessions on breaking down exam questions and formulas. Other experiences I've had that contributes towards being a tutor includes my time as a youth leader as well in my local church in which I led all youth between ages of 11-18 in weekly activities and religious studies.
I would like my lessons to be very interactive and fun! I'd want my students to be engaged with the content even if it was a topic they struggled with; I'd like to implement the students individual learning styles into my lessons to aid understanding of the topics and nurture a positive attitude towards tackling difficult questions!
As a student who was once failing in secondary school, I see the importance of education from both the perspective of a successful and unsuccessful student and I learnt how to approach content and exam questions that I found intimidating. This allowed me to go from a C student to an A* student. I hope to pass on this knowledge in how to keep to exam timings, how to approach questions that cover multiple topics and how to implement critical thinking. So, I hope to be able to help you in your journey to achieving your ideal grade and increasing your confidence in all topics.
Hope to hear from you soon!
