I have over four years of lecturing and tutoring experience combined, having taught both scholars and university students and also an additional three years of being a facilitator conducting faculty wide trainings at the university. Dealing with online learning and learning management systems e.g Moodle, Teams, and Turnitin, to name a few.
I believe in making the content relatable, to know it's real life application and how it is applied. This helps simplify complicated concepts and makes for better understanding. As a visual learner myself, I believe visual learning helps cement the content and brings it to life past the written words. So my teaching style is conversation first (about the topic at hand), followed by a visual interpretation or demonstration, then lastly deal with the textbook/technicalities of the content once the student understands what the concept is about and what/how it is used. This all serves a purpose to answer the following; What? Where? Why? How? When? . By being able to answer these questions, pertaining a certain topic, then a student will have shown understanding and application of the topic.
