I have rich experience to work in different environments such as Italy, Pakistan, and United Kingdome, where I deal with number of peoples having different backgrounds and nationalities in varied disciplines. Good communication skills are mandatory for teaching profession, thus my experience in teaching field and in customer services at a public sector organisation are evidence of my communication skills. My publications in internationally recognised peer reviewed journals also determine my skills to communicate complex information to a range of audience and stakeholders both within and beyond the University.
I have been performing my duties as a One-to-One Science Tutor at Outwood academy Bishopsgarth, Stockton. I have been endeavouring pupils to develop their aspiration towards learning by providing mock examination or tests to prepare them for real exam. I would have to review student’s assignments and test score and working through problem questions that students did not solve correctly. I always keep up to date with the current curriculum and new teaching strategies and maintaining an excellent knowledge of the subject being taught (KS3 and KS4).
I had also been worked as a Science tutor through National Tutoring Program, Sunderland, UK for delivering online science sessions to small groups of pupils (KS4). I have been involved in assessing students’ level of progress and development in subject area and identifying the areas for improvement. This NTP program was limited to deliver only 15 hours of sessions per tutor to cover disadvantage pupils due to covid-19 closure of schools.
During the seminars I mainly adopted the Research Informed Teaching approach, in which I used to share with my students' research-based facts related to the contents of the lecture, to empower my students to become leaders and agents of change, and to develop strategies that enhance the synergies between research and student education by encouraging my student’s skills and abilities to lead their own research projects.
During my job roles in different discipline’s, I had confidential information for student records, supervision progressions, student responses during lecturers, and results, this confidentiality was only shared with responsible authorities. For example, if a student requests his/her record without authenticated email, I request them to use their authorised email to ensure their identity, further I had some trainings for data protection, child safeguarding, fire safety, equality and diversity, first aid essentials and other.
I strongly believe in teamwork because of synergy in performance. In all of my previous and current roles, I have been working effectively in teams and enjoyed helping other members when needed. I also believe in peer learning which is only possible while working in teams.
I have experienced to work in varied environments with colleagues and students with different age groups that exceled my abilities as team member and group leader. During my recent One to One Science Tutor role, my task was to work with more critical students and motivate them in their learning process which enhances my skills as more effective team member. I encouraged students to understand the importance of their sessions that will facilitate them to move to the next level. Previously during my Researcher job role, I have experienced to work with different master students and colleagues that make me perfect to work in multidisciplinary research groups. I am an enthusiastic learner and an effective team member in any groups and have significant contributions in my all-job roles to meet the job requirements.
I have published in world leading journals that requires high quality unique outcomes to be published this shows my skills in preparation and maintaining documents. Further during my Researcher job role and One to One Science tutor job role I maintain record of all students to update the responsible authorities regrading their progressions and weak areas require improvements.
I always welcome any changes and respond and adopt accordingly. Meetings are essential part of any job roles and on some occasions in high workload conditions two meetings came at same point for different topics, so my preference is to choose the most important/required one and request access for recording to another meeting if that was online and recorded, if recording is not available of second meeting I went to a member of staff who attended that meeting to discuss the minutes of that meeting. Usually, this kind of situation is rare, because at the time of meeting acceptance on MS Team confirms if I have another meeting at same time so I request to reschedule the meeting, if that meeting is for me only. Most of the time I took appropriate actions according to the situations.
I have always been committed to the organisational vision, mission and values, which I deliver through my behaviour. As being experienced in varied positions, I always stick to the organisational policies and procedures. I have explored the Teesside University Values and Behaviours framework that I consent to adopt with delivering excellence, empowering individuals, fostering creativity, embracing diversity, communicating openly, committing to sustainability, and taking responsibility in my working life at Teesside University.
I am an enthusiastic learner and always motivated to learn and adopt new techniques. My previous work experience is evidence of collaborative approach and learning new techniques, further my research with international research groups shows my outstanding collaborations, contributions, and commitments to my work.
