My lessons are engaging, dynamic, and designed to suit each student's unique learning style. I take a visual and interactive approach, using mind-maps and a variety of retrieval techniques that have been instrumental in my own academic success. I believe that by visually representing concepts and actively recalling information, students can better understand and retain the material.
At the beginning of each session, I dedicate the first 10 minutes to a recap period where the student has the opportunity to write down or verbally share everything they remember from our previous lesson. This initial exercise not only reinforces their learning but also helps me gauge which areas might need further explanation. It’s a chance for both of us to identify any gaps in understanding and adjust the session accordingly.
Following the recap, we address any questions or difficulties that arose from homework assignments or previous content. This ensures that the student feels confident and prepared to move on to new topics. I then introduce new material in a clear, structured manner, often using visual aids such as diagrams and mind-maps, which help to break down complex information into manageable parts.
As the lesson progresses, I incorporate interactive discussions, practical examples, and short quizzes or flashcard sessions to actively engage the student in the learning process. This approach not only consolidates their understanding of the new content but also makes the learning process fun and stimulating. I draw on my tutoring experience with KS3 students to create sessions that are both enjoyable and highly effective.
Above all, I am extremely patient and committed to ensuring that each student fully grasps the concepts we cover. I am not bound by the clock; I will continue to work through topics until the student is completely satisfied with their understanding. My ultimate goal is to create a supportive, interactive, and inspiring learning environment that fosters academic growth and confidence.
