I am someone who loves teaching in a visual way through mind-maps and enforcing various retrieval methods that had helped me throughout my GCSEs. I am extremely patient and I am willing to persevere until my student fully understands the concept I am teaching. I am not a clock watcher, I will endeavour until my student is happy with the content we have covered. During my sessions, I would take around 10 minutes out of the beginning of the allocated time to give my student a chance to write down or talk about everything they remember and understand from the previous session so that they have a chance to recap and retrieve the previous content. This also gives me a chance to understand what we might need to go over more. There might also be some work that I have set in the previous session that my student might want to ask questions about which we would cover at the beginning of the session. After that I would teach my student some new content further in the course and then at the end we might do a quiz that I had made prior or do some flashcards on the new content. I have had experience tutoring KS3 students before and I try best to keep the session enjoyable and helpful for the student.
