I have been tutoring GCSE students for over a year. During the first session, I like to get to know my students more so that they feel more comfortable with me. I feel that this helps me to understand them better as a person, find out what teaching methods work for them and help them feel at ease during my sessions. During my sessions I ensure to go over any concepts the student wishes to cover in as much depth as they need. I will only finish my lessons once the student is confident they have fully understood the topic and feel comfortable enough to practice alone. I like to go through examples with my students during the sessions and then let them practice by themselves during the sessions going through each one to ensure they have fully understood. I am a very patient and understanding person and do know what it feels like to struggle. This is why I want to help other students and ensure they don’t go through that and that they feel very confident after.
