At first I would ask them their level of English; I want to hear their confidence in the language. I would then proceed to ask them to construct basic sentences about themselves with foundation level of vocabulary and how they can improve on that, and see if they have basic knowledge on homophones (they’re, their, there, your, you’re, where, were, we’re, wear). I want to know how long they have been learning the English language, as I am a native speaker with a progressed level of English looking to impart this level. The lessons would be focused on pronunciation and extending sentences to modify them - practice writing to get used to spelling accurately.
