I conduct lessons on Microsoft Teams with the camera off for both the student and myself since this guarantees the smoothest internet experience and the most comfort for both parties.

My first meeting with the student will focus on identifying where their strengths are and what they need help with improving. The student can also offer a piece of school work if they wish (e.g. an extract they have written) to showcase their current French level. I will also communicate directly with the student (or their parent in certain cases) what their expectations are for my lessons and what their end goal ultimately is.

The plan of each lesson will be individually tailored to the student’s needs and level and a stepping stone to reaching their end goal. I will inform the student in advance what their next lesson will be focused on so that they have plenty of time to prepare. If the student or parent wishes then I can offer some extra work outside of our lessons for the student to complete, which they can either send to me by email ahead of the lesson or show to me during the lesson. This is, however, in no way compulsory.

I will communicate the frequency of lessons that I am able to conduct each week with the student, or their parent where appropriate. I will likely be available for evening lessons on working days and most hours on the weekends, however this will be communicated in advance to the student and we can arrange lessons at the best convenience for both the student and myself. The lesson times and days can vary each week and the student is not obligated to take lessons at the same time each week, however they can if they wish to do so.

My current French level is a grade 9 at GCSE and, as I am embarking on French A Level, I hope to continue to grow my French proficiency. Having achieved near perfect marks at GCSE, I am aware of the revision methods and the type of work a student needs to invest to improve their French skills and I am more than willing to share this advice with any student, regardless of whichever level they are working at. As a multilingual person, I am deeply passionate about learning languages and hope to share this passion with any of my students and make learning French an enjoyable experience for them. Thank you
