I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore new ideas. I have extensive teaching experience from early years up to A Level. Alongside education modules, I have recently completed a short level 3 course in Secondary Learning, covering key issues in learning and teaching in secondary schools. I also work as a part-time exam invigilator so I am closely involved in exam procedures.

I mainly tutor Psychology (A Level, GCSE) and English (KS3, GCSE) but I am also available for Sociology and Primary Education.

From my own experience, I understand how adverse circumstances and learning difficulties can impact your academic attainment. However, I am a strong believer that this should not be a barrier to anyone's success. This is why I am passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

I work with my students to identify their strengths and weakness. We then work through understanding each topic, building confidence, while developing skills. I tailor lessons to meet each student's specific goals to ensure they get the most out of our lessons. In addition to my experiences teaching students with SEND, I also use a lot of visual methods which many students find helpful.

Psychology (A Level, GCSE):

My sessions are highly interactive and tailored to each pupil's individual needs. I explore each key topic in depth, ensuring students have a solid grasp of the subject, whilst developing effective exam technique. I tutor a range of exam boards including AQA, OCR, WJEC and Cambridge International.

My teaching methods and lesson activities include:

- Active recall (to ensure students fully understand key topics)

- Distributed practice (to aid memory and revision)

- Practice exam questions, quizzes, mindmaps etc.

English (Primary, KS3, GCSE):

I focus on building a strong foundation in reading, writing and comprehension skills while also preparing students for their exams. I personalise each lesson based on the student's current level and goals. This could include an emphasis on grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure, or writing skills (such as creative or persuasive writing). I use mindmaps, extracts and practice questions to aid understanding, develop analytical skills, and practice written expression.
