I structure each session to build a solid understanding of key topics while focusing on areas where my students need extra support. I usually break each lesson into three main parts: review, new content, and exam practice.
I like to start by revisiting material from previous sessions, clarifying any misunderstandings and reinforcing the core concepts. This review helps build continuity and ensures that knowledge sticks over time. Next, I introduce new topics from the specific exam board such as ecosystems, natural hazards, or urban issues. To make these topics engaging, I use maps, diagrams, and real-world case studies, encouraging discussions and problem-solving activities that help students think critically and relate the content to the world around them.
As we get closer to exams, I shift the focus to practice questions and exam techniques. We work through past papers together, and I show students how to break down questions, structure their answers, and manage their time effectively. I provide personalized feedback to help them understand where to improve and how to earn the highest marks possible.
With each lesson, I tailor my approach to fit my student’s learning style, ensuring that they stay engaged, gain confidence, and feel prepared for their exams.
