Muna Yusuf

I am an experienced and passionate tutor with a strong background in teaching English, Maths, and Phonics to children and adults, including learners of English as a foreign language. I hold a BA in Early Childhood Education, an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy, and a TEFL certification, which has enabled me to teach both native and non-native speakers with tailored, multi-sensory methods that make learning accessible and engaging.

My experience includes tutoring children aged 4-16 at Explore Learning (in person and online), where I developed individualised lesson plans to support diverse learners, including neurodivergent and SEND students. I also taught English as a foreign language online to adults and children, focusing on practical communication skills, grammar, and vocabulary using interactive activities and real-life applications. I use visual aids, phonics techniques, and conversational practice to build both language proficiency and confidence.

Additionally, my background and current role as a Speech and Language Therapist has provided me with valuable insights into communication strategies and the importance of adapting lessons to meet each learner’s needs. I have mentored fellow tutors in differentiating instruction, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed.

I am passionate about fostering a positive, engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity and builds lifelong skills. With my experience across various age groups and learning needs, I am confident in my ability to help students achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
