I have an educational background in medicine and a master’s degree in another biological field so that my knowledge of biology spans detail stemming from studying every topic in the A level biology syllabuses as a separate subject.

I use my own PowerPoint files and have several years’ experience of teaching and I specialize in A level Biology, especially in the specification of AQA. My style of teaching, I believe, is unique, in that:

A] I introduce the student to everyday observations in life, and how to extend principles from those familiar items to detailed information in biology. This makes the student learn to assimilate complex data as a simple exercise that makes learning successful and enjoyable.
B] I patiently teach the student to learn the Greek origins of biological terminology so they can then very easily work out the meanings of new terms, so less “cramming” is needed.
C] My training includes memory tactics using cross-linking, which aids retention and recall.
D] Closer to exams, practice of past papers together with detailed feedback boosts the student’s confidence, leading to outstanding results.

The vast majority of my students who follow my advice and recommendations achieve A and A* grades. A number of my past students are now qualified doctors and pharmacists, and I can provide contact details [in line with data protection] if you need testimonials.
