It’s important to tailor online teaching to your learners’ needs so that each class is inclusive and fun, so I'll provide extra support for those who need it.
I'll help expose my learners to go through reading and listening activities, and develop strategies to engage them to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) which is a cyclic learning process composed of many different stages, starting with asking questions and acquiring knowledge that, in turn, leads to more questions in a growing complexity cycle.
Putting this methodology into practice does not only mean the exercise of inquiry by students, but convert it into useful data and information.
The four great advantages observed with the use of this methodology are:
1) The development of critical thinking and creative skills
2) The improvement of problem solving abilities
3) Increased student motivation
4) Better knowledge sharing in challenging situations
Beyond the debate around the effectiveness of learning by memorizing facts and data when discussing education, one of the most talked about aspects is the need to show my learners how to work with the information they receive at school. I'll teach them to contextualize, analyze, relate, argue. In short, I'll help them converting information into knowledge.
This is going to be my weekly planned strategy:
Week 1: Meaningful interaction
(Creating the best conditions for the learners to interact meaningfully and learn together online.)
Week 2: Engagement, content and differentiation
( Tailoring online teaching to your learners’ needs, to ensure your classes are inclusive and enjoyable)
Week 3: Practice, assessment and progress
(Helping learners develop their speaking and writing skills, and using assessment for learning to make learners and their parents aware of their progress)
