Generally, I outline the sub-topics within each topic and layout the expectations to be achieved for the completion of each topic. Then I teach all concepts using illustrations or videos or graphing calculators, and sometimes I will attempt an Example question and explain its solution. After I am done giving lectures on a sub-topic, I expect students to ask me questions as much as they can and I encourage them to ask all kinds of questions. I will even repeat the explanation of a concept if students did not understand at first.
After clearing out all their questions, I assign classwork questions to students and encourage them to attempt these questions on their own and encourage them to think critically by asking them to justify their answers. If a student got their answer incorrect or they got stuck in classwork questions, I help them out in answering these questions. At the end of each class, I give homework assignments, which can include challenging questions, to attempt on their own and in the next class, we discuss any problems they faced in homework assignment before proceeding to next sub-topic.
After the completion of a topic, I take tests which includes some topical exam questions and then I use this test to discuss what kinds of questions students can expect in an exam for a particular topic. After the completion of a subject, I take mock exams in an exam environment and then I discuss about the strategies of time management and how to answer questions appropriately.
