As a tutor I believe that the most important factor of you being a good tutor is getting to know the problems of your pupil and tackling them most proficiently in the ways that suits the students well enough.

My past experiences have been teaching privately as a home tutor and as a teaching assistant in the pioneer college in Pakistan. My basics have always been tackling the problems my pupil have and sticking to it on the bases of situations I create in order to make the student comfortable and confident.

For example, If they lack in speaking I would prefer giving them a scenario where they are having an argument about something which leads then to builds their confidence and social interaction skills. Like giving them a scenario where they have a meeting with their academic officers about a problem going on in which they have to state facts in order to be ready for any situation of that kind.

If they lack in reading I would most probably refer some books that are elite in reading and give a wide spectrum to overcome the language barrier with some tasks that they would complete on a daily basis. Apart from that if they lack in writing I would tackle that problem by giving them some articles or essays to write to broaden their knowledge and their writing skills.

Last but not the least if they have a problem registering the things people say or to be clear listening I would prefer them some podcasts and informational structures that would maximize their capability to be a good listener and understand what is going on and talked about.

In any of the cases my tactics are getting the hold of the problem and solving it most efficiently as it could be.
