I am a math Olympiad coach and former IMO bronze medalist. I have been tutoring students preparing for math contest for 5 years through online lessons. I have coached students from all around the globe (UK, USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia,...) for various math contests including (IMO, BMO, USAMO, AMC, SMC, AIME,...) and many rcerived awards.
I also upload math Olympiad videos on my YouTube channel (little fermat) with over 4k subs, which you can check here:
My teaching strategy is simple:
Step 1 : I check the student's level through a test I have created.
Step 2: I hold an icebreaker session with the student discussing the test.
Step 3: According to the test and the student's goal, I classify the student into one of three levels.
Levels details:
Level 1: Preparing for regional math Olympiad exams such as the senior mathematical challenge (SMC) and the AMC, AIME.
Level 2: Preparing for Central math Olympiad exams such as the British math Olympiad (BMO 1+2), The USAMO and even IMO introductory level.
Level 3: Preparing for Team Selection Tests to choose the 6 participants at the IMO in addition to IMO advanced level.
Teaching style:
I start with some theories with proofs then we discuss example problems in which I try to let the student lead the process of solution possibly giving hints from time to time and advice. Finally I give a mouthful homework to check the student's understanding of the topic and wgether we are ready to proceed to the next lesson or need a bit more practice.
