As an English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor, my instructional approach will emphasize the development of essential English skills such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and conversational abilities. These lessons will be customized to meet the individual needs and proficiency levels of each student. I will frequently employ diverse teaching methods, including interactive activities, visual resources, and practical scenarios, to actively involve students in their learning journey. I carry myself with confidence and can effectively communicate with others and I am sure will almost always make for a good English tutor. I am also very highly motivated and can adapt to meet the needs of multiple students, just as importantly, understand the National Curriculum, and the subject of English in particular.

My students come to me with vastly different expectations and levels of ability. Some struggle with English and need help to achieve basic conversational skills, while others are high achievers aiming for top grades. Working with adult students, I met many who had done badly at school, and who needed lots of help and encouragement and a fresh approach to re-energize them to succeed. This has made me an understanding and empathetic tutor. Being a parent has also helped me to understand the worries and frustrations of parents when they see their kids needing help, and the importance of good communication with parents.
