My name is Henry Pyne and I am a MA drama student living in Cardiff. I have learned some much from so many wonderful tutors and now want to pass on some of this knowledge to inspire other young actors, singers, and musicians. My most recent training from George Gallagher has completely changed how I approach acting and hopeful I can change how you act by convincing you that there is nothing to act.
In terms of my practical methods, I like to get the voice working from the off and see how the monologue/sides feel and really hone the instinctual nature by making decisions at the moment and following your impulses. The worst thing you can do is discover that the choice you made doesn't work for you but you took the risk and the time something really exciting can come from it. At the end of the day, we are portraying humans and as Bill Espers once said if acting is doing truthfully under imaginary circumstances then that is what we as storytellers must continue to do. Honing the skills of voice and movement has certainly helped me develop grounded authenticate characters so that whether on stage or on screen the audience will as they say buy the lie and really believe they are witnessing a genuine event that leaves their thoughts provoked and keeps them engaged all the way through. I am so excited to begin making a difference and can't wait to see what comes next
