Essentially, my sojourn into secondary mathematics tutoring has been greatly rewarding. It has been embellished with outstanding commitment to fostering a strong graps of the concepts of Mathematics and a penchant for learning. I systematically honed my mathematical skills in creating an inclusiveness and engagement in a learning environment. Students are comfortable to ask questions, take risks and develop confidence in their mathematical prowess.
Amongst my main strengths as a tutor include effortless adaptability of my tutoring strategies to meet the different learning profile needs of my students. My focus is on a seamless comprehension of mathematical concepts and procedural simplicity, deploying tangible examples to explain abstract concepts. Fit-for-purpose whiteboards and softwares enable me to animate teaching mathematics and reinforce learner's understanding.
Collaboratively, I endeavour to integrate students' group activities and synergy sessions in order to optimise learning. Techniques such as problem-solving workshop and peer-to-peer teaching assist learners to hone their skills in critical thinking and learning from colleagues. Formative and summative assessments are top priorities in guiding students comprehension of lessons taught. Additionally, continuous feedback and tutoring strategies adjustments are handy tools for improving lesson planning and delivery.
My tutoring approach is defined by empathy and simplicity. Setting lofty expectations and availability of requisite learning tools for students overall success are my priority too. Promoting a learning culture of trust and mutual respect as a derivative of strong student-teacher learning relationship is important to me.
In a nutshell, my adaptive teaching experience and penchant for tutoring mathematics opens the door for me to inspire and support learners with the skills needed for them to succeed in field of mathematics.
